Expansion of Abu Qash Higher Basic Boys School

  • Location: Abu Qash, Palestine
  • Partner Institution: Ministry of Education and Higher Education

In the town of Abu Qash, near Ramallah, the local boys’ school faced overcrowding and limited space, restricting its ability to accommodate students as they advanced to higher grades. Many students were required to travel to neighboring communities to continue their education, placing additional strain on families, and contributing to unequal access to learning opportunities in rural areas.

To address this challenge, the Munib & Angela Masri Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, supported the expansion of Abu Qash Higher Basic Boys School through the addition of a new 400-square-meter floor. This expansion increased the school’s capacity and allowed for the establishment of secondary-level classrooms, enabling more students to complete their education within their community.

The Foundation’s support also included the rehabilitation of the school’s outdoor spaces and garden, providing a safer and more engaging environment for learning and recreation. By improving both capacity and facilities, the project strengthens educational infrastructure, promotes equitable access to education, and contributes to the reduction of developmental disparities between central and rural areas in Palestine.
