In direct response to the needs of the local community, the Munib & Angela Masri Foundation funded the establishment of the Munib Rashid Al-Masri Grandchildren School in the town of Ya’bad, in the Jenin Governorate of Palestine. The project was implemented in partnership with the Ya’bad Municipality, which contributed the land required for construction.
Built on an area of 1,500 square meters, the school accommodates approximately 400 students. It has significantly improved access to quality education in the town and surrounding areas, particularly given the distance from urban centers and the challenges associated with accessing educational services.
As part of the Foundation’s continued commitment to strengthening the educational process, an expansion was completed between 2022 and 2023. This included the construction of an additional 60-square-meter classroom to accommodate increasing student enrollment and enhance the learning environment.
The school plays a pivotal role in serving marginalized communities, particularly those located in Area C, such as the Imreha community and Khirbet al-Makhul. By providing access to education closer to students’ homes, it helps reduce geographic and economic barriers that can hinder educational continuity.
The school offers education from Grade 1 through Grade 10. Classes from Grades 1 to 3 are coeducational, while Grades 4 through 10 are designated for female students within a supportive learning environment tailored to their needs. The school is staffed by a team of 24 female teachers and administrative personnel who contribute to delivering quality education and comprehensive academic support.
This project reflects the Foundation’s commitment to supporting the education sector, particularly in underserved areas, by providing essential infrastructure that safeguards children’s right to education and supports a more stable and empowered future.
