The Munib & Angela Masri Foundation focuses its attention in particular to support development projects in Jerusalem. It took the initiative to establish a fund in cooperation with the Alquds Fund and Endowment and its strategic partner since its inception.
The foundation has contributed about five million dollars to date to support projects in schools, sports clubs, educational and cultural institutions. The foundation has also partnered with the Islamic Development Bank, through the initiative We Cross Your Walls, Jerusalem.
The Munib and Angela Masri Foundation supports artistic and cultural advancement initiatives that highlight the wealth of the Palestinian contribution to the creative arts. Palestine’s heritage is rich in artistic expression and community traditions that embrace music, dance, literature, folklore and film. Recognizing that a vibrant cultural life is central to social development, the MDF directs funding and in-kind support to initiatives that celebrate Palestinian contributions to Arab culture, and that provide both outlet and opportunity for artists and the communities in which they work.
The Munib R. Masri Development Foundation also contributes support to the primary and secondary education sector in Palestine and abroad. Projects in this category are comprised of infrastructure construction and rehabilitation grants for existing premises, and funding support for education organizations dedicated to the dissemination of international best practices to Palestinian schools in the areas of teacher training, classroom management and curriculum development specifically for the elementary, middle and high school years.
The Foundation completes its contribution to building university facilities in Palestinian universities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and focuses on developing scientific research, education quality and knowledge production.
The Foundation provides soft loans and refundable grants to help outstanding and creative university students under the name of "Munib Rashid Masri Fund for Academic Creativity". It is a fund dedicated to Palestinian students in the homeland and diaspora, covering more than a hundred annual scholarships at home and in the diaspora.
The Foundation, in partnership with Al-Quds University and the University of Jordan, established the Al-Quds Academy for Scientific Research, which began building partnerships with international universities to develop scientific research in Palestinian universities. The Foundation also seeks to develop the infrastructure for scientific research in universities and to build research centers and laboratories.
