Equipping the Samih Al-Qasim Diwan

  • Location: Nablus, Palestine
  • Partner Institution: The Society of Awtar Center for Artistic and Cultural Creativeness

As part of its ongoing support for arts and culture, the Munib & Angela Masri Foundation contributed to equipping the Samih Al-Qasim Diwan at The Society of Awtar Center. The project supports Palestinian creativity by providing a dedicated space for artistic expression, cultural exchange, and knowledge sharing.

The Diwan honors the legacy of the iconic Palestinian and Arab poet Samih Al-Qasim, one of the leading voices of resistance poetry in modern Palestinian and Arab literature. Known for his commitment to freedom, identity, and belonging, his work remains a symbol of cultural resilience and a powerful expression of the Palestinian experience. Today, the Diwan serves as a dynamic regional hub for literary activities, art education, and cultural preservation.

The Society of Awtar Center is an independent, non-governmental association established in September 2009 by a group of Palestinian professionals interested in supporting social activities for children and youth in their communities. Based in Nablus, the association is dedicated to serving all citizens regardless of their political or religious affiliations and providing a range of social and educational services, including cultural and psychological support.
