The Munib & Angela Masri Foundation supported the development of the Jerusalem V-Tours (Virtual Tours) mobile application, an innovative digital platform designed to showcase Jerusalem’s cultural heritage and preserve its Palestinian historical narrative through immersive technology.
Available in six languages, including Arabic, English, French, German, Spanish, and Turkish, the application expands access to Jerusalem’s history and heritage for audiences around the world. Through interactive 360-degree virtual tours, users can explore the Old City’s most significant landmarks, including its historic walls, gates, domes, streets, markets, shops, and restaurants, creating an immersive experience that closely reflects an in-person visit.
Beyond the virtual tours, the application features educational and documentary content based on the Palestinian historical narrative of archaeological and heritage sites throughout Jerusalem’s Old City. Presented in a concise, accurate, and accessible format, the content balances clarity with depth while preserving the city’s history, identity, and cultural heritage.
The project reflects the Foundation’s commitment to supporting Jerusalem through innovative cultural and digital initiatives. By harnessing technology to preserve collective memory and reinforce the Palestinian narrative, the application expands global access to Jerusalem’s heritage, particularly at a time when access to the city remains restricted.
